On 25th May 2008 Nicolae Corneanu, the Orthodox Metropolite of Banat - Romania, asked and received the Communion during a greek-catholic Liturgy that he attended in Timisoara, causing joy to the audience that was praying 14 hours continuously before the Liturgy for the unity of Church and a lot of protests in the orthodox world that is still considering the Catholic Church as being heretic.

At the very least, blogs have the potential of decreasing animosity between so long as the people who like to send anonymous flames are ignored or deleted from otherwise earnest conversations.

Mike,

I was trying to convey that while there is diversity on the blogworld, most blogs seem to fall on the conservative side. I was suggesting that while you would think that individuals from different sides who hold strong opinions can't get along, it is actually possible (and beneficial) to have these types of genuine conversations. I tried to re-word it to emphasize that not all blogs are conservative (a loaded word anyway, with political overtones), and not all folks in the conversation are traditional.

God bless,
David

David, great synopsis. My disagreement comes in your own contradiction: Bloggers are diverse and Bloggers are generally conservative. I for one would like to see a more wide-open tent for ecumenism, including the "grumpy" less conservatives like myself feeling "at home" and not "flamed" by those of our own faith.

Peace, Mike

Wow, I like the term. I definately see blog ecumensim taking place. If anything, the internet gives us a chance to learn what others believe. It helps us clear up our misconceptions about various Protestant denomenations, and gives Protestants a chance to learn what Catholics believe.
