I’ve got my NY Mass ticket and put the plane ticket on the old credit card.

I will see the Pope this weekend, but I’d like to see you as well. Let me know if you live in or near NY or are going this weekend and want to meet up. I’ll be there from Friday afternoon to Monday morning.
This will be my first time in this fair city, so I could certainly use any help you can give.
OH, and I don’t have a place to stay yet, so any suggestions for lodging is appreciated. I’m looking for somthing in the price range of free to dirt cheap.

The Hotel Pennsylvania is cheap and accross from Madison Square Garden. It is a place to sleep, but the rooms are not much bigger than the bed, which is not much softer than your couch…
But you should only need it to sleep and be too exhausted to notice!

If I don’t get any couch offers, I’m leaning towards hostelling.

Chad,
I am glad you got to go! Please tell us all about it when you get back (sounds like a Paltalk room to me…)
NOTE FOR EVERYONE ELSE:
Help Chad see the pope. Please consider giving Chad a few bucks toward his trip! Remember, Chad is representing Per Christum, and all bloggers before the pope ;).

Don’t go to Hotel Pennsylvania. It’s dirty, the service is rude beyond description, even by NYC standands and its’ a tourist hotel. Try the Travel Inn.

Thanks guys. I’m going with a hostel just a couple blocks from Central Park.

No two ways about it: The Plaza, it is NOT. Usually you can get it on the cheap and it has hot water for a shower. The service? I don’t know of it one way or another as I have never used the amenities - just slept and showered there… which is all I use a hotel room for on weekend trips… so the fact it is a touristy dive never bothers me. When I have been able to go to concerts at Madison Square Garden, it has been especially convienant.
