St. Rocco is the patron saint of plague and pestilence, having survived one himself and receiving a reputation as a heavenly aid in the time of these tragedies. I found the following novena prayer from Catholic Doors and invite all of you to pray it with me for the next 9 days that the world will find safety from this awful swine flu.
O Blessed San Roque,
Patron of the sick,
Have pity on those
Who lie upon a bed of suffering.
Your power was so great
When you were in this world,
That by the sign of the Cross,
Many were healed of their diseases.
Now that you are in heaven,
Your power is not less.
Offer, then, to God
Our sighs and tears
And obtain for us that health we seek
Through Christ our Lord.
Amen.
(Repeat the following 3 times)
San Roque, pray for us,
That we may be preserved
From all diseases of body and soul.

God has sent this to me. My fifteen year old daughter was just sent home from school with a suspected case of swine flu. I am becoming a bit unravelled, and it’s time to “pray, hope, and don’t worry” as Padre Pio says.

Please pray that I may be healed of my skin and mental conditions. The doctors only care about trying to drug me to death. They love birth control, and don’t understand that I wish to have a husband and children in the not so distant future, as I am 23 years old. I want to be free of the problems, for them never to return, and to be free of all medications that would harm a human fetus. I pray for all of these things to be made known to me. I mean, I want to know from God that I don’t have to take pills and that I am cured. It’s hard to explain. I also pray that my freedom from the diseases, not having them again, and the freedom from drugs will all happen at once and soon. It sounds like a lot, but it is really not. I’m so weary. Thank you.
